Mayyasa
is a multi-talented filmmaker broadly experienced in shooting, producing and directing
factual programming. She has a strong commitment to feminist, social justice and
community issues.
She is of German and Syrian descent and now lives in Oxford. A lateral thinker
with a relaxed manner, positive attitude and professional approach, Mayyasa graduated
from film school in 1993. Since then she has been working as a freelance camerawoman
and producing documentaries and informational films as well as wedding videos
for the Queer community.
Her work has been seen on Carlton, Channel 4 News, BBC Newsroom
SouthEast, HTV Wales, Channel 6, CNN and public service TV in the US. With all
of this experience, you can feel confident that SisterVision will get it right
when it comes to your production.
Mayyasa has a full digital shooting kit [large format DVCam
Sony DSR500], including fluid head tripod and radio mic. Thats
the jargon but what it refers to is a big professional video
camera with high picture quality, a tripod that allows very
smooth camera movements and an inobtrusive wireless microphone.
Computer editing comes as standard.
She is inclusive, resourceful, flexible,
diligent and focused. Mayyasa has extensive experience of working as a one person
camera crew and remains keenly interested in using video as a tool for advocacy.
